The Baramati Hirkani Run celebrates the legendary courage of Hirkani, a milkmaid who scaled the treacherous cliffs of Raigad Fort in the dark of night to reach her hungry infant. Her extraordinary bravery so moved Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj that he ordered a wall built in her honor—the Hirkani Buruj that stands to this day.
This run honors not just Hirkani's motherly love, but the indomitable spirit of Maharashtra—the same spirit that built the Maratha Empire. Join us as we run through the historic landscapes of Baramati, carrying forward the legacy of courage, determination, and the will to overcome any obstacle.
